I finished my Associate of Arts degree on Wednesday last week! I felt like this day would never come and now that it’s here it doesn’t feel any different! But I am so excited to be halfway through my schooling now! YAY!
I start Bethel at the beginning of March, but for now, I am very much looking forward to a much needed break from school…
Nathan finished his last class at St. Mary’s University tonight and has achieved his Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing.
Congratulations babe, you totally rocked it.

Holy moly, where has fall gone? Winter, and December, came so quickly this year!!! I can’t believe 2010 is already drawing to a close!
Nathan is 11 days away from his last night of class at St. Mary’s University and earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing. I am 12 days away from my last night of class at Inver Hills Community College and earning my Associate of Arts degree. The last two years of school for us both has just flown by. It’s amazing that we’re are both achieving such awesome goals within a day of each other.
All of the Christmas shopping for our families is done and my Christmas shopping for Nathan is done. It feels so good to be so far ahead of everything, especially with the last 12 homework filled days I have.
Peru is just 25 days away. So hard to believe that the trip we booked 8 months ago is just around the corner. We’ve been busy making sure we’ve got everything we need. In the past 6 weeks we’ve each bought a daypack (25L and 20L) and trekking poles for the Inca Trail. I’ve arranged a pack cover to borrow from Kev and hoping that the owner of the company I work for will let me use her late husband’s hunting travel duffel for the trip. On our Peru list still is: bug spray, sunscreen, lotion, snacks, and a waterproof duffel.

You guys will be seeing a lot more poetry, and maybe an occasional short story, because I am currently taking a Creative Writing class and enjoying every minute of it. Nathan is also really encouraging me to post some of my stuff here, so here ya go!
For this poem we were told to go somewhere different, out of the ordinary, and write about any inspiration or feelings we felt. Friday night, after the MADACS awards for work we had the privilege of attending a free afterparty at Target Field where we got a behind the scenes tour!
Baseball Rockstar
On an empty field of green
I almost hear the crowd roar.
The crack of the bat
as my baseball takes soar.
The hotdogs smell juicy,
the kettle corn is hot.
The people are screaming
for me to give it my best shot.
My heals dig into the dirt
as I see the moon rise.
The silent echo grows loud
as the falling star flies.
I quietly whisper my wish as it falls from the sky.
Make me a baseball rockstar,
make me one of the guys.
