Nathan’s (well, me too actually!) been wanting more Mexican food lately. So we’ve been going out to eat at Mexican places more often and I’ve been trying to cook more Mexican food.
Yesterday when I left for class I told him to email me some recipes/ingredient lists of what he wanted me to make for dinner and I’d pick the stuff up on the way home. So heading to the grocery store after class I realized how much food we were going to be making.
I texted Kevin before church and talked to Polly at church (she forgot her phone at home) and we had a very impromptu Mexican party starting at 8pm last night- sombrero included! We made margaritas (NUMMY!!! Don’t use Master of Mixes though
Use Jose Cuervo’s mix, we had one bottle of each and strawberry M.O.M. SUCKED!), tamales (corn husk and everything!), chili rellenos, mexican rice, beans, and even Flan for dessert!!!
The food was delicious, the company fantastic, and the Margaritas effective

Us
You have my heart
It’s forever yours
From the very start
You’ve always meant more
You fill me with your laughter
Your sunshine and your face
You keep away the demons
My sadness you erase
Adventure, laughter, love
That’s what our life is now
Forever we’ll stand together
We’ll never break that vow

I haven’t seen Sophia since around Christmas time. Been super busy with school and vacations and carpooling makes it really tough to get out to her house. I feel really bad about this, every time I’ve tried to pick a date to hang out with her though something comes up.
Kim, Elliott’s widow and mother of Sophia, came into the office today. She pulls a little sheet of paper out that Sophia had written in school. It’s a prayer sheet and she filled in the blanks. The first blank was naming her role model and she put me, Amy. Then the prayer goes on to pray for her role model and that they’ll be a good one and show Sophia how to be a good person, etc.
I feel so fricken bad. Been wrapped up in my own world way to much and haven’t made time for her lately. Shame on me
So I set up a playdate with her mom. She’s coming over on Wednesday next week. It’ll be a good time, we’ll eat dinner, play Wii, and catch up.

Yesterday I got an email from TravelZoo. Airfare to Hawaii for $440/person. I quickly looked up cheap hotel near Waikiki Beach and found that we could go to Hawaii for 5 days in May for $1230 TOTAL, all taxes, all fees, air, and hotel.
WHY? didn’t I book it??? Because I’m an idiot, that’s why. For some reason I thought the airfare would still be that low later that night after I’d talked to Nathan about it.
An hour later the cheapest airfare was $700. I am a dork.
Oh well, it probably would not have been the best financial decision at this time anyway and once we got there we wouldn’t have had a ton of $ to spend…
I will continue my search for a cheap trip to San Francisco instead
