Effective Manager Conference Rocked

I am back home from Los Angelas where I had the privilidge of attending ManagerTools.com’s Effective Manager Conference. Simple put it was amazing. Having been listening to Manager Tool’s podcasts for probably about a year. Having been acting upon the content since December when I took on the Interim Team Lead role, it was great to hear the Trilogy straight from them in person. Their Trinity for management is quite simple: One-on-ones, Feedback, Coaching, and Delegation.

Lately I have been feeling like something has not been working with the way I have been actioning on the Trinity, and I learned many areas where I can improve. Feedback was the next step that I really needed clarity on how to do it, and I got exactly what I needed plus more from the conference. I will undoubtedly be able to be more effective moving forward, and I am exctatic about it. I have been able to attend many confernces with my job, but none have been as actionable and beneficial as the Effective Manager Conference.

Nathan is gone…

And coming home today!!! He’s been in LA the last 2-days for a work conference. I am excited to pick him up at noon and go home and eat lunch with him before I have to head back to work!

Also did Day 27 of the shred today! I am a maniac :-)

So friggin excited…

Mountain biking in Nevada. Yes, we are that awesome. We will be taking part of Saturday in Las Vegas to go do some MTBing at Bootleg Canyon in Boulder City, NV. After that we’ll head to the Hoover Dam then back to the strip for our Cirque de Soleil O show that night.

Sweet weekend…

Had a super fantastic weekend!!! Friday night we went to Tandoor, an Indian restaurant in Bloomington, it was decent, we like Sambol in Eagan a lot better. We’ll have to go to Sambol again soon, we love the Indian food!!! After dinner we went and saw Angels & Demons, it was pretty decent, I haven’t read the book in quite a while so I think that made it more enjoyable.
Saturday we went MTBing at Lebanon Hills, super fun 5 miles of trails, it took us about an hour.
Sunday we went and did the MN River Bottom trails which were an absolute blast. We spent 3hrs riding 10 miles to the other side of Bloomington and 10 miles back, the last 2-3 miles we biked up into Bloomington and followed the streets back to our car. We had packed a lunch and enjoyed our sandwiches, tangerines, and homemade banana bread halfway through our ride.
I woke up this morning and DID NOT want to Shred but I did, I also really did not want to elliptical, but I did. Still on level 3 and today was day 24!
Nathan is truly extreme though. He biked to work today and he made it in around 40 minutes!!! I couldn’t believe it, it’s 11+ miles and he made it in 40 minutes! Kudos to him :-)

4 more days til Vegas baby :-)
