So I'm finally learning to save and I LOVE it!!! It's so fun to see my savings account grow and know that $ is being put away for all our traveling we want to do, cause that's pretty much what my savings is for… But I've learned the more you save, the more you want to save!!! I'm loving going through my monthly bills and seeing where I can cut back (Honey- do you really need that $20/month internet on your cell phone, can't we go back to the $6/month? lol) so that I can add even more to savings!!!
Anywho… I know we can't cut back on everything, but I'm working on it
We'll still go to the occasional movie and of course we wouldn't skip the State Fair coming up in a week here. But we're trying to cut back. Probably do a little less eating out and a little more eating in. Also this year we'll be cutting back on how much we spend for Christmas/birthday gifts. I've discovered one of the easiest ways for me to save is to just not go to any stores! And if I do have to go to Target I go with a specific list and cannot buy anything off of that list!
Next month Jess, Polly, and I are going to visit Kristie!!! Best part about it is cause there's 3 of us in Jessica's gas conserving Cavalier we should be able to do the trip for less than $100/each!!! So great! So excited to see her place and church and their life down there. Plus we're gonna eat at Baja Fresh! So exciting!!!
But yeah, that's my update for now. Still working out the details for our MX trip, found our resort, just need to see if I can find airfare cheaper than the $1k we're looking at paying!!! I'll have to keep watching it! The nice thing is Orbitz has a 'price assurance' and if anyone else buys the airfare through them for cheaper they'll mail me a check for the difference once the trip is complete…
Oh yeah, update on my car… It's still not working! Nathan and Matthew got it running for about 2 minutes on Sat night and then it died and they haven't been able to get it started again. I think they're working on it more again this weekend!!! I hope it won't need too many more expensive parts! I don't want to spend any more $ on that thing!!!! We've already spent $2000+ on it since May!!! So, hopefully it'll be a cheap fix, whatever the problem is… And I sure hope they can fix it and we don't have to junk it like Nathan's talking about possibly doing. I really don't want another car with a car payment. I LOVE being car payment free. But I guess that might just be what we have to do…
