So I posted pics of our California trip, accidentally did em backwards so it goes from the end of our trip to the beginning in the gallery…
Anywho, we had a totally awesome time. Kevin was a pretty good host, just next time he needs to let us know when other people won't be there lol, there were 7 of us staying in a 2br apartment for the last 3 days… Needless to say it got kind of crowded- not to mention awkward.
We had an amazingly busy time. Every day we were doing something different! Here's a list of things we did:
Monday:
Pick up our sexy Hyundai Sonata rental car with a sunroof- woowoo!
Breakfast at Carl's Jr
Ronald Reagan Museum and Air Force One tour
Port Hueneme Beach (ghetto!!!)
Lunch at Del Taco
Bogie's Nightclub with some of Kev's work peoples- this club had an amazing atmosphere!!!!
Midnight snack at BJ's- best pizza I have ever had…
Tuesday:
Drove 1.5hrs to visit Grandma and Grandpa Markley, they took us to Omega Burger for lunch, it was pretty good but I was a little dissappointed with it after all the hype it got from Nathan's family…
Drove down Hollywood Blvd on the way back to Kev's.
Smithola's at home for dinner.
Wednesday:
The Getty Museum- I saw my first 3 authentic Monet's here!!! It was amazing, I was in awe. I have always LOVED Monet and to see something that he once stood in front of and brushed it to life was amazing…
Hollywood Blvd- pretty sweet seeing all the stars in the sidewalk :-]
Kodak Theatre tour- this is where the Academy Awards are every year, we actually got to stand ON the stage!!! It was pretty darn sweet
Lunch at Baja Fresh where I had the most amazing salad ever!!! Nathan loved their pork too, they need one here in MN!!!
Drove down Rodeo Drive and saw Paris Hilton!!! Totally awesome.
Took Mulholland Drive part of the way back to Kevin's- amazing views…
Dinner at El Torito Mexican Grill.
Thursday:
Drove through Malibu on the PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) and looked at all the amazing mansions.
Santa Monica Pier.
Lunch was at SanSai Japanese Grill.
Dinner was rice, veggies, and Nathan's amazing Frank's drummies.
Went to the Canyon Club with Kev's work peoples and saw the most amazing 80s cover band ever: The Spazmatics.
Kevin went and picked Stacey up from the airport at this time.
Friday- Stacey was with us too:
Lunch with Kevin at Jack in the Box.
The Getty Villa in Malibu.
Santa Monica Pier.
Hollywood Blvd.
We did the SMP and HB again so Stacey could see
Dinner with Kev and Stacey at Marie's Italian Kitchen.
Beer Pong at Kevin's Place.
Saturday:
Universal Studios!!! I loved it here, my favorite thing was Wisteria Lane from Desperate Housewives, it was so SWEET getting to drive down the street and see the houses first hand!!!
Dinner was Pinkberry on the way home, it's a DELICIOUS frozen yogurt place with fresh berries and other toppings. Nathan and I shared a quesadilla at home later that night too.
Sunday:
Disneyland!!! The happiest place on earth!!! We had a fantabulous time!!! Spent 13hrs there and still didn't see it all… My absolute favorite was Space Mountain- that ride was A M A Z I N G!!! I think that was Nathan's too. We also really liked the Matador, it was a good cuddling ride… We got soaking wet in the morning on Splash Mountain- that totally sucked especially since it was pretty cold out…
Monday:
Lunch at Baja Fresh for me (another amazing Chipotle mango salad!) and El Pollo Loco for Nathan- I tried a small $1 taco here too.
After lunch we picked up Stacey and headed to an outlet mall and went into the Coach store where Stacey and I proceeded to each buy a sexy black purse for way cheaper than normal
Dinner at Islands Restaurant where we had the most amazing fries The good way as the waiter called it, there's a pic in the gallery of em…
Dessert at Pinkberry again, hmmmmm.
11pm- went to airport to catch a flight home
Tuesday:
7am arrive home- LAX lost Nathan's suitcase- losers…
5pm- see The Bucket List
7pm- Go home and see that Nathan's suitcase had been delivered- YAY!!!
Overall we had a really good trip, spent time with wonderful peoples, met lots of new peeps, and ate tons of great food. I'd love to do Cali again someday, but it'll be a while. Want to see Vegas and NY next
Hope ya'll are having a good 2008 so far!!! I know we are!!!
Love,
Amy
