Fogo De Chao: Brazillian Steakhouse

We ate at Fogo De Chao on Saturday night to celebrate our 6 year anniversary of our 1st date… We were very dissappointed. After reading much hype on the internet and hearing how great it is from one of Nathan's co-workers we were very excited to try it.

It was nothing but a glorified, extrememly expensive buffet.

The salad bar was set-up with all sorts of american and exotic brazillian foods. The salad was delicious and the best part of my meal… The meat was brought around tableside and carved right onto your plate. There were 15 different chef's, each with a different meat, circling the very crowded and noisy restaurant. You were given a circle cardboard, one side red, one side green, if you wished for more meat you turn it green side up, when you have enough meat you do red side up. While it was a fun experience the overall meat quality was dissappointing. Their marinades were lacking… Several of my meat portions were either too fatty to eat or practically uncooked in it's rareness…

It would have been more enjoyable if it hadn't been so expensive. Our bill was $125 with tip. Who wants to pay that for buffet service??? I certainly don't…

Our advice: Skip Fogo De Chao. If you're looking for a fun restaurant that's worth the $ try The Melting Pot, or even better, Benihana!!!
